Former West Ham United striker Michail Antonio is set to feature as a pundit for TNT Sports' coverage of the Community Shield this Sunday. The match will see Liverpool go head-to-head with Crystal Palace in the traditional season opener at Wembley Stadium, with Arne Slot's team aiming to continue their winning streak from last season.
Liverpool secured their place in the match after clinching the Premier League title in Arne Slot's debut season at Anfield. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace exceeded expectations by triumphing over Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final at the same venue in May.
Antonio is present as he contemplates the next phase of his career following an eventful eight months. This period saw him narrowly escape death in a car accident before parting ways with West Ham after a decade.

Here are all the details on the 35 year old's recent career.
Net worth, reports the Liverpool Echo.
According to Salary Sport, Antonio has a net worth of £29,692,000. He made 323 appearances over a decade at West Ham, scoring 83 goals, and was part of the starting line-up in the 2023 Conference League final when West Ham ended their 43-year wait for a trophy.
Horror crash.
On 7th December, the now-35 year old was driving through Epping Forest during stormy weather when he lost control of his Ferrari and crashed into a tree. Images of his wrecked vehicle quickly spread online, causing widespread concern among the football community about his well-being.
West Ham United subsequently released a statement confirming that their record Premier League goalscorer was "stable" and "conscious and communicating" in hospital. Additional updates from the club revealed that Antonio had undergone a surgical procedure to address a "lower limb fracture".
The striker has since disclosed that his leg was "completely shattered" during the incident, having broken his femur into four separate pieces. Antonio's serious injuries required a prolonged hospital stay of more than three weeks and began a gruelling rehabilitation journey that ultimately brought his season to a premature end.
Hammers departure.
West Ham announced in August that Antonio would not be penning a fresh contract as a first-team player at the club.
"Michail will always be a much-loved and respected member of the West Ham United family," a statement said.
"As has been the case since December, the club will continue to support and assist him in his ongoing rehabilitation, offering him access to training, facilities and medical care if needed."
Fresh opportunity.
Antonio is operating as a TNT Sports television pundit for Sunday's match at Wembley alongside former Palace player Joel Ward, ex-Liverpool star Steve McManaman and presenter Laura Woods. The former Hammers striker previously served as a pundit for the broadcaster during their coverage of May's Conference League final between Chelsea and Real Betis.
It remains uncertain whether the Jamaica international will now concentrate on punditry or pursue a new club.
