Mitchell Marsh smashed a 56-ball century for Lucknow Super Giants against Gujarat Titans to take his team to 235/2 at the end of 20 overs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
The 33-year-old scored 117 runs off 64 balls and broke several LSG records in an innings that included 10 fours and eight sixes.
Marsh, who was signed for Rs 3.40 crore by the Lucknow-based franchise in the IPL 2025 mega auction, became the third LSG batter after Rahul and Quinton de Kock to score 500 runs in an IPL season for LSG. This was also his sixth score of above 50 in the season, the joint most with KL Rahul for the franchise.
Nicholas Pooran, who also smashed a half century, followed the Australian to 500 runs in the season soon after. The West Indian batter became the first batter to score five 50s in under 25 balls in a single IPL season. He remained unbeaten on 56 off just 27 balls, including four fours and five sixes.
It was a tough day for GT bowlers as each one of them barring Mohammed Siraj leaked over 10 runs an over. Only Arshad Khan and Sai Kishore grabbed a wicket each.
