Acupressure for Headaches: Headaches are a common problem. Due to increased work stress, spending too much time in front of mobile or laptop screens, or prolonged periods of an empty stomach, people often suffer from headaches. Sometimes, the pain becomes so severe that people are forced to take painkillers. However, taking painkillers repeatedly is considered unhealthy. Therefore, here we are telling you about a natural and easy way to get relief from headaches. This special method was recently shared by renowned naturopathy doctor Janine Bowring on her YouTube channel. Let's learn about it:
How to relieve headaches immediately?
In a video shared on her YouTube channel, Dr. Janine explains that there is a point on your hand that, when pressed, can quickly alleviate headaches.
Where is this point located?
According to Dr. Janine, there is a special place in our hands called the Large Intestine 4 (LI4) point. This point is located between your thumb and index finger (first finger). Join your thumb with your first finger; doing so will reveal a line on your hand. Where this line ends is called point LI4.
How to press this point?
Hold this spot with your other hand.
Apply gentle pressure with your thumb and index finger.
Now, continue pressing for about 1 minute, making small clockwise circles.
When you feel mild pain or pressure, you're pressing the right spot.
Dr. Janine says this method provides immediate relief from headaches by improving blood flow to the head and reducing stress.
In such a situation, you can try this simple method. However, if you experience frequent or severe headaches, it could be due to some other reason. In such a case, definitely consult a doctor.
Keep these things in mind:
Pregnant women should not press this point; it can cause uterine strain.
If you have high blood pressure, apply very light pressure.
