Soap fans will be overjoyed as and have just announced a historic cross-over episode one-off special episode to launch the broadcaster’s in January 2026.
For the first time in British soap history, the hour-long episode will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre.
It's set to be a highly dramatic episode, as teases that the combined production teams will embark on an ambitious stunt that will have everlasting consequences for everyone involved.

The episode will be self-contained, but the consequences of the high-stakes drama will have repercussions for both communities and see them linked forever as familiar faces depart and exciting new characters arrive into both soaps.
Afterwards, the soaps will both return to their new normal pattern of transmission. Earlier this year, it was announced that each soap will be on for 30 minutes each evening.
But that's not all. Fans will be even more thrilled to learn that they'll be able to have their say in the outcome of the soap, as ITV announced they'll be able to choose one character from each soap who they would like to see meet, and interact, in a scene.
