All Creatures Great and Small fans were absolutely thrilled when the beloved Channel 5 period drama returned to television screens with a fresh series last month.
The sixth series kicked off with a subtle time jump as viewers discovered James and Helen Herriot (Nicholas Ralph and Rachel Shenton) were now raising two youngsters, with their baby from previous episodes having grown into a small boy.
Meanwhile, Mrs Hall, portrayed by Anna Madeley, had been missing for quite some time and Siegfried seemed rather irritated by her absence, which caused concern amongst viewers who were rooting for the beloved duo to find romance.
Mrs Hall had been residing with her son Edward, his spouse and their little girl. She had been taking time away to assist in caring for her granddaughter, reports Manchester Evening News.
She was eager to spend additional time with her son following his return from combat. James and Tristan informed her about Siegfried's difficulties, so she consented to return to Skeldale briefly to resolve matters.
When questioned about where audiences would discover Mrs Hall in series six, actress Anna revealed: "We left Mrs Hall at the end of the last series with the wonderful news that Edward had survived his ship going down.
"That was fabulous news and put her mind at rest, but he was still out in Singapore."
She went on to say: "Once he eventually did get home he had been injured and in transit for months, so she went to look after him and nurse him back to health. In terms of her family, active duty for the war is over, so she is on a different journey.
"Her surrogate sons are in other places, Tristan is still away and James had been unwell with brucellosis, as we had seen in the last series, so he was back in Skeldale away from war."

The star further commented: "So Skeldale is in a different place with everyone having been away and families growing.
"Personally, Mrs Hall is in a good place at the start of the series, but the world is still at war and there are only whispers that it may be ending in Europe."
The actress hinted that viewers will delve deeper into Mrs Hall's own story in the series as she disclosed: "We see a little more of her personal story, her family life and how that develops during the war and afterwards.
"We also see how she balances that with her surrogate family in Darrowby and what the future might hold for her in the longer term."
