Arsenal's Premier League showdown with Manchester City will feature the ongoing trial of a new television feature when the two sides face off later this month. The Premier League and PGMOL are testing out Ref Cam this season.
Chosen matches will have the referee equipped with a camera on their shirt, along with an earpiece and microphone. These images can then be broadcast during live TV coverage of the match, providing viewers with a unique pitch perspective.
The Daily Mail claim that the encounter between Arsenal and Man City at the Emirates Stadium has been picked as a game where the cameras will be operational. The match is scheduled for Sunday, 21 September, with a kick-off time of 4.30pm.
Last season's meeting at the Etihad Stadium sparked some friction between the two teams, with City accusing Arsenal of employing 'dark arts' to maintain a 2-1 lead with 10 men. Pep Guardiola's team managed to level the score in the 98th minute of the match, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
Ref cams will provide a unique viewpoint as the official presides over the match, with the identity of the referee to be announced by the Premier League in the run-up to the game. However, no contentious incidents from the match will be shown, and there will be no live footage from the camera, with the images instead being replays of match incidents.

The concept was tested during the end of the previous season and throughout the Premier League Summer Series in the USA. Referee Jarred Gillet sported a boycam during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United in May, with some footage being shared by the league after the game.
Sky Sports also utilised this feature earlier in the season during their broadcast of Liverpool's 3-2 victory over Newcastle United at St James' Park. The televised footage included referee Simon Hooper's perspective of Ryan Gravenberch's opening goal during the match.
