BBC viewers tuning in to watch the live Eurovision semi-final tonight (May 15) were left distracted by an unusual outfit that appeared on-screen just minutes in.
The show was co-hosted by comedian Hazel Brugger and Swiss singer Sandra Studer. While Sandra wore a glittery black ensemble for hosting duties, Hazel opted for an otherworldy look, donning a floor-length, iridescent silver dress that featured large plastic discs all over it.
The bold get-up left viewers divided, with commentator Rylan Clark also offering up his thoughts on the outfit to UK viewers.
"What a dress," he began before adding: "She looks like a funny mermaid." Later in the show, he described her as looking like a fish.
Rylan's wasn't the only scathing remark to roll in, with viewers quick to offer their own thoughts on the ensemble on social media.
One comment read: "The comedian on the left is if AI came up with a Eurovision presenter," as another viewer asked:"What the f*** is that presenter wearing on the #Eurovision semi-final show?"
A third simply asked: "Hazel why this dress?" as a fourth remarked: "She's sticking with that dress then."
The Grand Final of the iconic song contest takes place on Saturday (May 17), with viewers in the UK able to watch it from 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
Reality star Rylan and broadcaster Scott Mills have been providing commentary for this year's semi-finals, broadcasting live from Basel in Switzerland.
However, ahead of the finale, Rylan revealed the strict warning he had been given by contest bosses which he let slip during a chat with the UK's act, Remember Monday.
"So, girls, come on, what's the game plan?" he asked the group. "You're going to get up on that stage, there's millions and millions of people watching you. Where are we going to go from tonight?"
They joked: "Oh gosh. Where are we going to go from tonight? We are going to The Euro Club!"
"You are definitely not going to Euro Club!" Rylan insisted. "It's normally my fault that I drag everyone to Euro Club. I'm under strict instructions from the bosses to make sure I don't go near you!"
The Eurovision Grand Final airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Saturday (May 17)
