Fans of a sitcom have said that it is one of the most underrated and funniest comedies ever. Arrested Development, first released in 2003, is an American satirical sitcom.
The show's description on IMDb reads: "Level-headed son Michael Bluth takes over family affairs after his father is imprisoned. But the rest of his spoiled, dysfunctional family are making his job unbearable". The show lasted three seasons until it made a comeback on Netflix, but fans say it wasn't the same and, in fact, they claim that the streaming platform ruined it.
One viewer, titling their review on IMDb as "well Netflix ruined it...," said that the "first three seasons were like the best thing you could see in a sitcom ever. But from the 4th season it's all going downhill. I couldn't even get through season 5. If it wasn't for the last two seasons, this show would have been my favourite sitcom."
Echoing the above, another wrote: "Arrested Development really is one of the funniest and most underrated tv shows ever created, especially the first three seasons!
"As most of the reviews have already said the quality dropped off for the last two seasons when it came back after taking a few years off. But those first few seasons were so good that it makes this show an all-time great sitcom!"
Despite the fans' letdown, the show has a score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and an even higher one of 8.6 out of 10 on IMDb.
Yet, one fan was able to give the last two seasons some credit.
They added: "The new seasons still have their moments, but it never lived up to the original episodes."
However, that doesn't stop fans from highly recommending people to give the show a watch.
One said that they "recommend watching the first three and nothing more" as the first seasons are the "peak of sitcom comedy" and make it "one of the smartest and funniest shows out there."
All seasons of the show are available on Netflix.
