Disney+ users are being warned as the popular streaming service is set to raise its prices yet again at the end of September. This means viewers only have a few days left to catch its current subscription rates.
As of September 30th, prices for the standard tier of a year's subscription are set to rise by 10%, up to £99.90, which is £10 more than the current price. Consumers have a week to renew at the current £89.90 before the price rise takes effect, as it was highlighted in a recent blog post from What's On Disney+.
This also comes with 12 months for the price of 10. One thing that isn't clear is whether or not Disney will raise the monthly prices of Disney+ subscriptions at the same time. Disney+ has three tiers of subscription for the service. These are the current prices for those who pay monthly:
- Standard With Ads - £4.99
- Standard - £8.99
- Premium - £12.99
Disney+ isn't the only streaming site available, although it shows unique content, there are other options for viewers. Amazon's Prime Video is available for £5.99 a month, which comes with free delivery on Amazon and a whole host of shows to watch.
For those who need their TV fix, there's also Apple TV+ for £8.99 a month, which offers major hit shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, and Slow Horses.
Despite the annoying price rise, Disney+ does have glowing reviews from shoppers on Trustpilot. One Disney+ watcher says: "I love Disney+. I'm a Star Wars and Marvel fan but since the addition of Starz it boosted my love, there's even more content for adults now that's worth it all round.
However, the same user added: "Only reason it didn't get five stars is Disney are not using their other brands in the subscription. If they did this could easily be the best subscription service ever but there is much more content locked behind their own service."
However, another five-star review says: "Good servers, good services, this nostalgia when watching old cartoons from TV. The subscription is really cheap compared to other streaming services."
