In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Mimoh spoke about the harsh criticism his family faced, particularly his mother, Yogeeta Bali. He explained that while he understood the criticism directed at his father, Mithun Chakraborty, due to his iconic legacy, it hurt when people used him as a means to insult his father. Mimoh acknowledged that the strength of his father’s legacy made him an easy target, and some resorted to attacking him through Mimoh.

Attacks on His Mother Crossed the Line

He also shared that while he was often criticized as Mithun Chakraborty’s son, the situation became especially difficult when the attacks turned personal, targeting his mother, Yogeeta Bali. He revealed that some actors from the industry even went as far as publicly mocking his mother, which crossed a line for him. While he understood the criticism aimed at him and his father, he drew the line at his mother, feeling that this was something he couldn’t tolerate. He acknowledged that everyone faces criticism, but the personal attacks on his family were particularly painful.

Initially, he felt the weight of this expectation, but now he focuses on playing characters that resonate with him personally. Mimoh emphasized that trying to outdo his father would be impossible, as Mithun Chakraborty’s stature is unique and irreplaceable. Rather than imitating him, Mimoh now aims to carve his own identity and be remembered for his work, like his role in Haunted. He made it clear that while he respects his father’s legacy, he simply wants to be recognized for who he is—Mimoh.
