At the same time, in certain districts of the state, gangsters are trying to use their influence to secure contracts for their close associates.

Recently, some miscreants opened fire at a liquor shop In Haryana’s Rohtak district where they opened around 13 rounds of fires. The assailants even recorded a video of the firing and posted it on Instagram. In the video, one of the criminals revealed his name. Along with the video, a threatening message was posted that read "If anyone fills out a form to get this liquor contract, we will shoot them so many times they won’t even understand what hit them."

An incident that occurred two days ago in Yamunanagar district caused panic in the city when a youth on a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire early in the morning. The shooting occurred at a liquor shop owned by Brijpal, located on Govindpuri road in the heart of the city. More than 12 rounds were fired, creating an atmosphere of fear.
This liquor shop is located on a road where many hotels, shops, and showrooms are also situated, though they hadn't opened yet at the time of the firing. The glass and bottles at the liquor shop were shattered due to the gunfire.
On Tuesday night, two masked criminals on a motorcycle in Jind district fired shots at four different locations within approximately 1.5 hours. The incidents occurred near the sugar mill in Jind, Khatkar Toll Plaza, a pipe factory, and a seed store in Uchana. After firing at the pipe factory, they demanded Rs 50 lakh extortion from its owner via phone. The criminals claimed they were members of the Dhaula Khatkar gang. The firing at four locations has caused widespread panic among the public.
According to information, newly released criminals are targeting village-level liquor shops as a means of livelihood. These liquor outlets are being seen as an easy source of income. These criminals offer a kind of protection to the contractors to ensure that no one else sells liquor in their area. Such incidents involving liquor shops occur in Haryana every year, but now, even young people are getting involved in this business, attracted by the prospect of easy money.
Simardeep Singh, DIG, Special Task Force (STF), told the TOI that gangsters based abroad are sending their henchmen to liquor shops to demand extortion, but strict action is being taken by the police. Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) in all districts have been instructed to take action at their respective levels. Strict action will be taken against these accused individuals, he added.
