NEW DELHI: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday said that the terrorists themselves had exposed the truth of ' Operation Sindoor ' to the world.
Speaking at an event organised by the Mormugao Port Authority in Vasco, South Goa, Dhankhar said, “The terrorists revealed the proof to the entire global fraternity. The coffins were escorted by the military force of that country, the political force of that country and by terrorists.”
Calling the operation’s result “exemplary”, Dhankhar stressed that India's military action had sent a strong and clear message to terror groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba .
“The strike was deep in the territory beyond the international border. Keeping in mind our ethos, the target was only terrorists. What a satisfaction for everyone,” he said, praising the precision and restraint of the operation.
Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to the killing of 26 Hindu pilgrims in Pahalgam on April 22.
Indian armed forces struck nine terror facilities across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7. These targets included key jihadi hubs at Muridke and Bahawalpur, headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed and were carefully selected based on years of intelligence gathering.
“No one was asking for proof after the operation,” the Vice President added. “The message that Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave from the heartland of Bihar that terrorism will no longer go unpunished, has now been sent to the entire world.”
The terrorists themselves confirmed the losses, with ten family members of Jaish chief Masood Azhar killed and Pakistan Army officials attending their funerals, shattering the long-held claim that these outfits were “non-state actors”.
Dhankhar also highlighted India’s growing global stature, describing the country as a “maritime powerhouse” committed to peace and sustainability. “Peace is fundamental to growth and development,” he said, adding that security, economic strength and national commitment are the foundation for peace.
During his Goa visit, Dhankhar inaugurated three infrastructure projects at Mormugao Port: a 3 MW solar power plant, commercial operations of two harbour mobile cranes, and a coal-handling covered dome.
He was joined by Goa Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, chief minister Pramod Sawant and Union minister Shripad Naik.
The Indian government has also launched a major global outreach effort post-Operation Sindoor. Seven all-party delegations comprising 51 MPs and eight former ambassadors will visit 25 countries from May 23 to counter Pakistan’s propaganda.
Parliamentary affairs minister Kiren Rijiju and foreign secretary Vikram Misri are coordinating this mission, which aims to present a united Indian stance against cross-border terrorism , especially at the United Nations Security Council, where Pakistan is a current member.
